Casey W.N. Chen

Vice President of Finance

"Financial Statement Whisperer"

Coming from a background in both business and science, Casey studied behavioral neurosciences with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders affecting learning and memory, including aphasias, dementias, and Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.  Her analytical mindset and dedication to logical and fact-based reasoning spurred her transition from biopsychology into the area of business and finance. As a detail-oriented individual, Casey aims to provide creative, insightful and thorough solutions both independently and as a part of a team. She has experience in business planning and strategy, and is especially interested in financial forecasting and capital budgeting in the risk analysis process of potential projects and investments.

Casey is a feminist who is passionate about travelling, trying new recipes, learning new languages and sharing cultural experiences in a culturally sensitive way. In her spare time, she can be found playing the piano and practicing beginner's yoga.

Casey holds an MBA from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Queen's University. She intends to pursue an accounting or financial analysis designation within the next few years.

“Conditions are never perfect. ‘Someday’ is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. If it’s important to you and you want to do it ‘eventually,’ just do it and correct the course along the way." - Timothy Ferriss
