Shannon MacDonald, CA, CPA, MHSc | Deloitte LLP
Partner & Lead Client Service Partner to the Government of Ontario 

Shannon MacDonald enjoys working with private companies and governments. She leads the firm’s work with the Government of Ontario, sits on the Toronto Executive as well as on the Global Deloitte board, and is the firm’s Chief Inclusion Officer. Over a recent five year period she led Deloitte’s professional services presence in Atlantic Canada as Atlantic Managing Partner. During that time she sat on the Executive of Deloitte nationally and on the Canadian Board of Deloitte. She has also served as the firm’s national health care leader.

Shannon’s experience includes twenty-five years of public accounting and consulting services. Shannon has served as the engagement partner for various Deloitte private company and public sector clients in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. She has conducted due diligence, external audit, risk management, internal audit and governance assignments for various entities. Shannon has also designed and delivered governance training and been an active member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Ontario Hospital Association’s Governance Centre for Excellence.

In a volunteer capacity, Shannon sat on the Board of Capital District Health Authority, Women’s College Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society Nova Scotia Division; and The Greater Halifax Partnership; and currently sits on the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council and the Board of Mount St. Vincent University. Shannon has championed Productivity improvement efforts through sponsorship and involvement in incubation of new business, mentoring of start ups and development of entrepreneurial curriculum development.

Shannon has a BBA from UPEI, a Chartered Accounting designation and a Masters of Health Science from University of Toronto. She has been recognized for two years as one of the Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada and twice as one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

As Vice President, Tom is responsible for the global business operations and cash management functions of the central Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) group, including planning/forecasting, management reporting/analysis/control, hedge accounting strategy, operational risk and governance processes, cash management, and wholesale bank liquidity risk management.  Tom has been with TDBG for 15 years in progressively senior roles in both TD Securities and TBSM, including 6 years as CFO – TDS Europe based in London, England.

Prior to joining TDBG, Tom worked in the Toronto audit practice of PwC, where he focused primarily on audits of large financial institutions and mining companies. Tom is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst with over 18 years of professional experience. His post-secondary education includes a BA from the University of Western Ontario, and a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. A father of two small children, Tom enjoys spending his free time with his family, tennis, ice hockey, and golfing.
