Innoversity believes that an inclusive media is a more innovative, creative and relevant media. For more than a decade, we have reached out to media industry leaders, and creators from a broad diversity of backgrounds and skills. We welcome everyone, particularly individuals of groups under-represented in the media, including persons with disabilities, Aboriginal and visible minorities, and new immigrants.
Innoversity was conceived in 2000 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to shining a spotlight on the creativity and innovation inherent in the diverse populations and cultures of Canada. Over the last 13 years, the Innoversity Creative Summit has evolved as a dynamic vehicle of cross-cultural communication, forging and facilitating connections between talented creative professionals—many from cultural minority groups—and executives from Canada’s media and cultural agencies.
Widely recognized and firmly established as an annual convocation of outstanding media talent, the Innoversity Creative Summit offers delegates unparalleled opportunities to showcase ideas, sharpen skills, strengthen connections, refine business strategies, advance their careers, pitch their projects and network. The Summit’s characteristically low-pressure, informal and warm environment, offers delegates uniquely privileged access to media executives, funders, and creative professionals leading to professional development opportunities.
For delegates, the two days of the summit are a pivotal investment in their projects, businesses or careers. In addition to providing opportunities for creative professionals to pitch their ideas in private meetings with often hard-to-reach media and funding executives, the Summit offers excellent opportunities for delegates to refine and develop their ideas or projects.
Delegates are encouraged to bring their ideas, unveil their works-in-progress and take full advantage of the calibre of available expertise. They can learn how to shape sparks of narrative inspiration into persuasive stories, or get tips on how to improve their pitches for films, screenplays, lifestyle or entertainment programs for television, radio or interactive media.
