We all know the drill when you first meet someone new…

“Hello, nice to meet you?”
“How do you know so and so”
“What brings you to this part of the town”
“Can you believe the rain?”
But how do you turn this first interaction, and make that into a connection with someone?  This extension of the ‘first impression’ is a skill of turning a “hello” into relationship.  It can be in the workplace, in a social environment and in volunteer opportunities.  We will be learning to adapt to different situations, and having examples of ways to connect with others.
Women in NAAAP invites you to the “Leave your Mark: The Lasting first impression” WIN Symposium.  Come Early To Enjoy  Your complimentary LinkedIn profile picture taken by Professional Photographer Grayson Lee.

Presenting Special Guest Speaker…Pauline Chan – Acclaimed reporter and anchor, Pauline Chan is currently the host of the popular segment Lifetime for CTV Toronto’s CTV NEWS AT SIX – Toronto’s #1 newscast. Chan has held positions with CTV Toronto ranging from General Assignment Reporter to Co-Anchor for CTV Toronto’s CTV NEWS AT 11:30 p.m., a position she held for more than a decade.

As the host of Lifetime, Chan has covered topics ranging from the latest in genetic cancer research, new vaccines, shoes that claim to tone your legs, and even Mayor Rob Ford’s effort to “cut the waist”.  As a reporter, she has won awards from the Toronto Fire Department and Peel Regional Police. Chan is also an active community voice, participating in events such as the walk to Axe Anaphylaxis, the Wake Up Call Breakfast for Prostate Cancer Canada and the North York Women’s Shelter. And she’s a popular emcee for many gatherings in Toronto’s Chinese and Filipino communities.
Chan has a double Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto in English and Drama, but a stint with U of T’s campus radio station sparked her interest in news broadcasting. After graduation, Chan enrolled in Humber College’s post-graduate journalism program, where she later graduated at the top of her class. An internship at Global Television led to Chan‘s first on-air experience, hosting a weekly youth news program called KIDSBEAT.
Born and raised in Toronto, Chan considers herself exceptionally fortunate to work in the GTA where she and her husband now raise their two wonderful children.
