I started attending NAAAP events in 2002 quickly became a NAAAP member, started volunteering and getting involved. As Director of Public Relations I had the opportunity to help develop Employee Resource Groups in the Greater Toronto Area. As NAAAP National Representative I had the opportunity to launch the NAAAP Career Centre and the new National Mission and Vision statements. I spearheaded the first Leadership Academy outside of the US in 2008. I was the driving force behind bringing the NAAAP Convention back to Toronto 10 years after it was first held in Toronto in 2003.

I joined NAAAP as I was looking for an organization that would help to develop my professional network outside of my network in healthcare. The experience of serving at the Chapter and National level of the organization has allowed me to connect with NAAAP member internationally. I was amazed by their ideas, accomplishments and this inspired me to develop my own potential. I realized there is a larger global community of leaders who are changing and shaping the future. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization and cherish the friendships that I’ve made over the years.
